Xiaoshuai Lv, born in 1989 in Baoding, Hebei Province, is a sculptor currently based in Chengdu. He earned his Master’s degree from the Sculpture Department of the Southwest Minzu University College of Art. Lv’s artistic practice is deeply rooted in traditional materials such as wood, clay, and paper pulp, through which he explores themes of time, memory, and personal experience. His works are intentionally open-ended, inviting viewers to derive their own interpretations and emotional connections.

Lv’s work spans sculpture, installation, and site-specific art, with participation in numerous prominent exhibitions, including the Shanghai Biennale, the East Lake International Ecological Sculpture Biennale in Wuhan, the Shenzhen International Sculpture Exhibition, and the Datong Sculpture Biennale. His ongoing artistic inquiry focuses on the vitality of materials and the shaping of personal experience, continually refining his artistic language within various cultural contexts.

An active figure on the international art scene, Lv’s sculptures have been acquired by King Charles III for the Royal Collection and are also part of the White Rabbit Gallery’s holdings in Australia. He was invited to participate in the international residency programme ‘Van Gogh House London’ sponsored by the Royal College of Art and exhibited in London, and in 2019 he became a contracted artist with BAHC Advisory, which has led to further collaborations with BAHC in the UK, France, and China.

In France, Lv collaborated with BAHC Advisory to participate in Paris Design Week’s Maison&Objet project, showcasing his distinctive sculptural language to an international audience. In China, he has been a regular contributor to the Hangzhou Cultural and Creative Industry Expo (HCIE) and the Hangzhou International Craft Week. He actively organizes and leads artist workshops, promoting art education and cross-cultural exchange. Beyond being an exceptional creator, he is also a practitioner of cross-cultural dialogue, adept at fostering artistic connections in diverse cultural contexts and strengthening collaboration between European and Chinese contemporary art communities.

In 2025, Xiaoshuai Lv will continue his collaboration with BAHC Advisory and travel to Europe. He aims to further develop his artistic practice within the European cultural context and foster closer dialogue and collaboration with artists and artisans from France and across Europe.
Lv plans to continue centering his work on sculpture while integrating diverse cultural experiences and site-specific practices. He remains committed to exploring the interplay between materials, space, and time, contributing to the advancement of cross-cultural artistic exchange and development.
